“Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others.” - Brené Brown
Boundaries, self-advocacy and knowing when enough is enough
Saying no can be much harder than it sounds.
We may worry about disappointing others, appearing unhelpful, missing an opportunity or simply letting someone down. Yet knowing our limits, expressing our needs and asking for support are all part of taking care of ourselves.
Join us for an evening of open conversation around setting boundaries, speaking up for ourselves and recognising when something has simply become too much.
Together, we will explore:
- Why saying no can feel so difficult, and how to do it with clarity and without unnecessary guilt
- Setting healthy boundaries with colleagues, managers, clients, family and ourselves
- Asking for help and recognising that we do not always have to manage everything alone
- Speaking up for our needs, our time and our energy
- Recognising the signals that tell us when enough is enough
In the spirit of Pink October
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and a reminder that standing up for ourselves also means taking care of our health. Listening to our bodies, making time for check-ups and putting our wellbeing first are acts of self-advocacy too.
Pink is warmly welcome on the evening.
The event will be a safe, confidential and interactive space, with guided table conversations and room for genuine exchange. Everything shared at the tables stays at the tables, and you never have to share more than you feel comfortable sharing.
️ Cost: Free to attend. There is no entry fee for OWIT Lake Geneva members, OWIT Worldwide members, partners or non-members. Participants simply cover their own drinks directly with the venue.
Everyone is welcome. Feel free to bring a colleague or a friend and join us for an evening of conversation, connection and reflection.
Registration is required, as places at the tables are limited. If you register and can no longer attend, please cancel your registration so someone else can join.
For more information: contact@owit-lakegeneva.org
Your hosts for the evening will be Alina and Lili, who will guide the conversation and make space for meaningful exchange and networking.
We look forward to welcoming you to Lausanne for an evening about boundaries, self-advocacy and the courage to say no when we need to.
